Terravista Vineyards are producers of small-lot specialty white wines, including Spanish varietals, located on the Naramata Bench in BC's Okanagan Valley.
Dallas and Eric Thor acquired Terravista Vineyards in 2019Terravista Vineyards was started in 2008 by Bob and Senka Tennant. A bit of history...Bob and Senka have been in the BC grape/wine industry for the past 19 years. Senka as winemaker and Bob as vineyard and business operator at their first business, Black Hills Estate Winery. In 2007, Black Hills was sold and Bob and Senka, not wanting to leave the industry, started looking for a small piece of property on which to establish a new vineyard and winery. Their idea was to concentrate on a couple of white grape varieties that had been attracting their interest.Their 1.6-hectare (four-acre) vineyard high on the Naramata Bench grows only Albariño and Verdejo, two Spanish white varieties never grown before in the Okanagan; the vines were not easy to locate. The Tennants received just enough in 2009 to plant a quarter of the vineyard, some of those vines were killed in a freeze that fall. It was not until 2011, with their new winery under construction, that they got enough vines to finish planting Terravista.Bob and Senka have also purchased grapes from three different growers to produce their other white wine, a blend named FIGARO. It is made up of two white grape varieties - Roussanne and Viognier - that originate from the Rhone Valley in France. Next door neighbours Tony and Cheryl Galloway, their near neighbour Walter Meyer, and Rob and Lynn Webster from Osoyoos all grow and supply these grapesThe 600-square-metre (2,000 square-foot) winery, set into a hillside and partly below ground, is designed exclusively for producing small volumes of white wine
